CORN BREAD | |
1 c. sifted flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. sugar 1 c. yellow or white cornmeal 2 eggs 1 c. milk 1/4 c. oil or melted shortening Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Place in mixing bowl. Stir in cornmeal. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture, add egg and milk. Stir in flour from sides and beat until dry ingredients are moistened. Add shortening. Pour into well greased preheated corn bread skillet. Bake in 400 degree oven for 30-35 minutes until top is lightly browned. |
