2 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup cocoa

Sift together above items in large bowl. Add 1/2 cup shortening, 2/3 cup buttermilk or sour milk and 2/3 cup carbonated cola beverage. Beat 1 1/2 minutes or until well blended. Add 1 egg and 2 yolks. Beat 1 1/2 minutes.

Pour into 2 well greased and lightly floured 8 or 9-inch layer pans.

Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350°F.
