DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE | |
1 Duncan Hines cake mix CREAM FILLING: 3 tbsp. flour 1 c. milk 1 c. sugar 2 sticks butter Make cake as directed on the box. Making 2 (8 inch) round pans. Cool and cut each layer in 2. FILLING: Mix together flour and milk, heat until thick, stirring constantly. Mixture will be very thick, put in refrigerator with plastic wrap on top so it won't form a skin on top. Peel plastic wrap off after it has completely cooled. Mixture must be cold. Set aside. Next, cream sugar and butter, make sure this is very fluffy, beat about 3 to 4 minutes. Add sugar mixture to milk mixture and mix 3 to 4 minutes. Put between layers of chocolate cake. Frost top and sides of the cake with Duncan Hines milk chocolate frosting. Refrigerate for 1 hour before cutting. |
