AMMONIA COOKIES 
Varner's grandmother's recipe - over 100 years old.

1 pt. sweet milk
1 c. lard
2 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 oz. baking ammonia
5 drops oil of lemon
1/2 c. water, or dissolve ammonia overnight in the milk
1 tsp. baking powder
Enough flour to make a stiff dough, about 8.

Non-stick mixture for cake pans.

1/4 c. flour
1/4 c. oil
1/4 c. Crisco

Mix well. Keep refrigerated.
