1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pinch of salt
4 tbsp. cocoa

ICING:

5 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 c. butter

Sift flour, sugar, salt, and cocoa. Add mayonnaise and water. Beat thoroughly and add vanilla. Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake in moderate oven at 350 degrees until done.

ICING: Over medium heat cook flour and milk until thick, stirring constantly. COOL UNTIL COLD. Beat in sugar, butter and vanilla. Beat until ready to spread.
