PICKLED OKRA 
1 bunch dill
3 hot peppers
9-12 garlic buttons
Okra
3 pt. vinegar
1 pt. water
1 c. salt
Pinch of alum

Boil jars, pack with 1 bunch dill, add 3 hot peppers. Add 9-12 garlic buttons. Wash okra with brush, pack in jar. Boil together 3 pints vinegar, 1 pint water and 1 cup salt. Pour boiling mixture over okra. Put pinch of alum in each jar. Yield 3 quarts.
