RAISIN NUT CAKE 
1 1/2 cups raisins
2 cups water, hot
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cup white sugar
2 well beaten eggs.
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Spray or wipe loaf pans with melted butter or oil and dust lightly with flour.

Combine raisins with 2 cups hot water and baking soda and let stand for 1 hour. Beat together butter, sugar and add eggs. Add raisins and baking soda water solution alternately with dry ingredients.

Mix well and stir in nuts. Baking for 50-60 minutes at 350°F.

Makes 3 medium or 2 large loaves.
