BREAD DRESSING 
3 c. soft bread, cubed
2 stalks celery
1/2 tsp. sage
1 tbsp. finely chopped bell pepper
1 egg, slightly beaten (optional)
1 1/2 c. hot broth
1/4 c. melted butter
1 onion
1 tsp. salt

Mix with fork, handling lightly as possible. Grease 9" square baking dish and bake in a fairly hot oven until a delicate shade of brown.
