CARAMEL BARS 
6 tbsp. milk
43 light caramels
1 1/3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. quick oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/3 tsp. salt
1 c. soft butter
1 c. milk chocolate chips
1 c. nuts

Melt caramels and milk together, set aside. Mix flour, quick oatmeal, brown sugar, soda, salt and butter together until crumbly. Put 2/3 of mixture into 9 x 13 inch pan that has been greased and floured.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Put chocolate chips and nuts on top. Spread caramel mixture on top. Drop remaining crumb mixture on top. Return to oven for 20 minutes. Cool for 1 hour and cut into bars. These freeze well.
