HOMEMADE TURTLES 
4 lbs. chocolate
4 c. sugar
3 c. white Karo
1 1/2 pts. half and half cream

Use Dutch oven pot.

Cook until hard ball stage, 248 degrees. Stir frequently.

Add: 2 tsp. vanilla Pinch salt

Pour into greased cookie sheet 17x12. After completely cooled, cut into squares and form into smooth flat balls.

Cut pecans lengthwise in half and lay to shape turtle (5 pieces) on wax paper on cookie sheet. Put a drop of melted chocolate in center of each group of nuts. Lay caramel square on top of each. If caramel is too hard to mold, put in oven 140 degrees to soften. Take out and cover with chocolate. This recipes makes 15 dozen.
