A BOON TO THE BRIDE (ICE BOX
ROLLS)
 
1 cup milk, scalded and cooled
2 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 cup lukewarm water
1/2 cup shortening
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 cup light cream
2 whole eggs or 3 egg whites
1/2 cup sugar
6 cups flour

Add sugar and shortening to milk and let dissolve. Add cream and allow to cool. Add yeast dissolved in water, and then lightly beaten eggs. Add flour, 5 cups, and beat well. Let stand 20 minutes. Add 2 cups flour with salt. Cover and place in refrigerator.

Form into rolls 1 1/2 hours before ready to bake. Bake 20 minutes at 425F.
