EGGLESS, MILKLESS, BUTTERLESS
CAKE
 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 c. hot water
2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. shortening
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 to 3/4 c. raisins (optional)
2 tsp. baking soda in 1 tbsp. warm water
3 c. flour

Put sugars, hot water, salt, shortening, cinnamon, cloves and raisins (if desired) in saucepan. Boil 5 minutes and cool. Add soda in warm water and flour. Bake in 9x13 inch pan at 300 degrees for 1 1/4 hours. Top with Cool Whip or whipped cream.
