SHAKER PICKLES 
1 gal. pickles, sliced med.
3 med. onions, sliced
3 toes garlic, if desired
1 lg. green pepper, cut up

SYRUP:

3 1/2 c. sugar
3 c. white vinegar
1/3 c. coarse salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. turmeric

Put pickles, onions, garlic and pepper in gallon jar. Bring syrup ingredients to a boil and pour over pickles. Shake every day for one week. These keep well a long time. Refrigerate.
