MACARONI AND CHEESE | |
2 1/2 c. water 1 tsp. salt 1 c. uncooked macaroni 1/4 lb. sharp cheese 1/4 lb. mild cheddar cheese, grated 4 tbsp. melted butter 2 eggs, beaten 2 c. milk 1/2 tsp. salt I have used Hoop cheese instead of cheddar cheese and it is good. Bring water and 1 teaspoon salt to a boil. Add macaroni and cook until tender (8 minutes). Drain and let cool. Put a layer of macaroni in a baking dish and cover with a layer of cheese. Repeat. Drip melted butter over the macaroni. Combine eggs, milk and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Pour over macaroni and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. |
