HERB MELBA TOAST 
1 (1 lb.) loaf, very thinly sliced white bread
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 tsp. caraway seeds
1 tsp. sweet basil
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. oregano

Cream butter with the caraway, basil, onion powder and oregano until light and fluffy.

Spread on one side of each slice of bread with herb mixture. Cut slices in half diagonally or vertically.

Place half slices, butter side up, on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake in an oven preheated to 350 degrees, 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove toast and cool on racks.

Can substitute sesame seeds, Parmesan cheese or finely chopped roasted peanuts.
