EASY ALMOND COOKIES 
These look pretty on a plate of other Christmas Cookies.

1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup ground almonds
1 tsp. vanilla
18 candied cherries, cut in half

Cream butter with sugar until fluffy. Add everything except the cherries. Mix well with your hands. Take a heaping teaspoonful of dough and start to form into a ball; push in half a cherry and roll again into a perfect ball. Bake on greased cookie sheet in slow (325°F) oven for 35 minutes. While hot, roll in additional confectioners' sugar.
