CHOCOLATEY SLICE 'N BAKE COOKIES 
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
3 env. (3 oz.) Nestle Choco-Bake baking chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg
1 c. finely chopped nuts (divided)

In small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine butter and sugar; beat until creamy. Blend in Nestle Choco-Bake and vanilla. Beat in egg. Blend in flour mixture.

Sprinkle 1/2 cup nuts onto waxed paper. Spread half the dough down center of nuts. Lift up sides of waxed paper to shape dough into a log. Roll into 12 inch log. Wrap securely with foil. Repeat with other half of nuts and dough. Chill in refrigerator 2 hours. Refrigerate up to 1 week or freeze up to 2 weeks.

Preheat oven 375 degrees F. Cut each chilled log into 1/4 inch slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes. Let cool on sheet several minutes before removing to cool on cake rack. Makes 7-8 dozen.
