STEWED CABBAGE 
3 slices bacon
1 sm. cabbage, sliced
2 tart apples, sliced
3 tbsp. butter
Salt & pepper

Fry bacon in a large skillet; drain. Pour off excess grease. Place crumbled bacon back in pan and add remaining ingredients. Fill pan half full of water, cover and simmer 20-30 minutes or until apples and cabbage are tender.
