BANANA SPLIT CAKE 
1 Duncan Hines white cake mix
1 can crushed pineapple
1 c. sugar
3 sliced bananas
1 pkg. vanilla instant pudding
1 sm. carton Cool Whip
3 1/2 oz. coconut
Walnut pieces

Bake cake as directed on the box. When done, poke holes in the cake with a wooden spoon handle. Cook sugar and pineapple until sugar is melted; then pour over hot cake. Mix pudding and pour over bananas, spread Cool Whip over pudding, spread coconut on top of Cool Whip and add walnuts on top. You can also add cherries or sliced strawberries on top. Refrigerate.
