POUND CAKE 
1 lb. butter (or part butter and part butter) 2 cups equals 1 pound
1 lb. confectioners' sugar
6 eggs
4 scant c. of cake flour after sifting
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. lemon juice

Cream butter well, pour all sugar at once and beat, beat, beat. Beat butter and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time beating after each one. Next add flour, then almond, vanilla and lemon juice. Use waxed paper on bottom of tube pan. Put in cold oven, turn oven to 350 degrees and bake for 1 hour 15 minutes. I used loaf pan turned out just as good.
