SPICY WHOLE WHEAT BARS | |
2 1/4 c. whole wheat flour 1/4 c. toasted wheat germ 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. salt 2 eggs 2 c. brown sugar 3/4 c. oil 1 c. buttermilk 1 c. raisins or dates 1 c. chopped nuts Stir together flour, wheat germ, soda and spices. Beat eggs. Mix in sugar. Beat in oil. Blend in flour mixture alternately with buttermilk. Add raisins or dates and nuts. Spread in greased 15 x 10 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut into bars. Makes 75 bars. 73.6 calories per serving. |
