DEEP DISH APPLE PIE 
6 apples
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. water
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. milk
1 tbsp. melted butter
1 c. sifted flour
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Peel and cut apples into very thin slices. Pour sugar and water over them. Place in a hot oven until they begin to steam. Cover with the following batter. Mix together egg, milk, butter and flour which has been sifted with the salt and baking powder. Bake at 350 degrees until crust is brown and filling is crumbly.
