RAISIN CAKE | |
1 lb. raisins 2 c. cold water, boil 15 minutes 2 heaping tbsp. cold lard 2 c. sugar 1 c. cold water 1 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 level tsp. salt 1 tbsp. baking soda 4 c. flour 1/2 c. good, hot water After boiling raisins in 2 cups cold water for 15 minutes, mix all ingredients. Can be made in a tube cake pan for better results. Bake at 325 degrees for one hour. Makes a very large cake! |
