HALE FAMILY ELEGANT CHERRY
PUDDING
 
1 c. flour
1 c. white sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 can pitted sour cream (pie cherries), drained
1 beaten egg

Sift dry ingredients on drained cherries. Add egg and mix well. Pour into greased 8 x 8 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes. Serve warm with butter sauce.

BUTTER SAUCE:

1 c. white sugar
1 cube butter (no substitutions)
1/2 c. canned milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Bring all ingredients to a rolling boil and cook for 5 minutes. Serve immediately over warm pudding. This is a favorite of my family and we serve it every year during the winter holidays.
