LORETTA'S BANANA CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 well beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. cake flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. milk
1 c. banana pulp

Cream shortening, sugar, salt, and soda. Add other ingredients, except flour, and mix. Add flour and thoroughly mix. Bake in 2 greased eight inch cake pans at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Ice with a cooked frosting and press coconut into the icing. Fresh banana slices placed between.
