CHOCOLATE SHEET CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. water
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Mix sugar and flour in a 2-quart mixing bowl. Melt butter in saucepan, add shortening and cocoa to the butter and boil until hot. Pour over sugar and flour, blend until moistened. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Bake in oblong 13x9-inch pan for 30 minutes at 400°F.

ICING:

1 (1 lb.) box confectioners' sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. milk

Mix confectioners' sugar, cocoa, and butter. Blend well. Add vanilla and milk; mix until smooth. Ice cake when cooled.
