APPLE BUTTER LAYER CAKE | |
3 c. all-purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 tsp. nutmeg 3/4 tsp. cinnamon 3/4 tsp. ground cloves 3/4 c. butter, softened 1 1/4 c. sugar 3 eggs 1/2 c. buttermilk 1 1/2 c. apple butter Stir flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Beat butter and sugar together until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Combine buttermilk and apple butter; add alternately with flour mixture, mixing well after each addition. Pour into 2 greased 9-inch round pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool thoroughly on cake rack. Frost cooled cake with creamy vanilla frosting. |
