KARIDOPITA 
1/4 lb. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
3/4 c. farina
2 tsp. baking powder
Dash of salt
3/4 c. ground walnuts
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. water
1 tbsp. lemon juice

Cream butter, add 3/4 cup of sugar and continue creaming until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add farina, baking powder, salt, walnuts, milk and vanilla, beating steadily. Pour into buttered 10" loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. While cake is baking make syrup.

Place remaining 1/2 cup of sugar in pan, add water and lemon juice. Boil, then cook over low heat 10 minutes until thick. Pour over hot cake. May be served cold.
