BASIC SEED COOKIES 
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. softened butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 - 2 tbsp. crushed herb seeds

Choose from the following: 2 tbsp. dill 1 tbsp. caraway 1 tbsp. fennel 1 tbsp. anise 1 tbsp. cumin

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and mix well. Work in flour mixture until well blended. Add lemon peel, vanilla and seeds. Blend well. Chill 4 hours or overnight. Roll thin and cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Bake on a greased cookie sheet about 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
