BISCUIT MIX 
8 c. all-purpose flour
1/3 c. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
8 tsp. sugar (optional)
1 c. shortening

Mix together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Using pastry blender, cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Store in a covered container, either on a cup board shelf or in the refrigerator.

When making biscuits, use 1/3 cup milk for every cup of mix. For pancakes, use as you would a packaged biscuit mix.
