BROILER-BAKED ALASKA | |
3 egg whites 1/3 c. sugar Salt 1 pt. peach ice cream 4 paper cup cake baking cups 4 tbsp. peach brandy Preheat broiler. In mixing bowl beat egg whites with electric mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and salt beating to stiff peaks. Place scoop of ice cream in each paper cup. Make hollow in center of ice cream with wooden spoon handle. Pour 1 teaspoon of brandy into ice cream center of each. Place on foil lined cookie sheet. Spread meringue over each, sealing to edges of cake and baking sheet. Broil 3 to 4 minutes or until golden. Serve immediately. |
