WALNUT AND HONEY SCONES 
4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
4 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
2 1/2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
2 tbsp. honey
3/4 cup cold milk

Preheat oven to 425°F.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl and rub in butter. Add sugar and walnuts and mix to a soft but not sticky dough with the honey and milk. Turn onto a lightly floured board, knead quickly and roll out to a 1/2-inch thickness.

Cut into rounds and put on a greased baking sheet. Brush tops with beaten egg or milk.

Bake at 425°F for 10 minutes.
