JESSIE'S BREAD AND BUTTER
PICKLES
 
4 qt. sliced cucumbers
2 qt. sliced onions
1/2 c. salt
1 qt. vinegar
4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. mustard seed
1 tbsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. pepper

Soak sliced cucumbers in ice and salt 3-4 hours. Drain cucumbers and combine with sliced onions. Add sugar and spices to vinegar to make a syrup. Bring to a boil. Add cucumbers and onions to syrup. Boil 10 minutes. Pack in jars and seal.
