FILLED ICEBOX COOKIES 
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. Crisco
3 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

FILLING:

1 c. dates
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. nuts

Cook filling 10 minutes.

Roll out cookie dough 1/2 inch thick. Spread with filling, roll up and chill. Slice and bake at 350 degrees.
