CHICKEN BARLEY SOUP 
1/2 lb. barley
1 lb. cut up chicken
1/2 lb. celery, cut fine
1/2 tsp. celery salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 gal. chicken broth with fat
1/2 lb. onions, cut fine
1 tbsp. chicken base
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
1 1/2 pts. diced carrots, cooked

Cook barley in chicken broth for 1 hour. Add the onions and celery and seasonings. Cook for another hour. Add the chicken and carrots and simmer for 15 minutes. Serves 20.
