RIGHT-SIDE-UP CAKE 
1 can sliced pineapple (14 1/2 oz.)
2 c. Bisquick
1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. butter, melted
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Drain pineapple, reserve syrup; cut pineapple slices in half.

Combine Bisquick, sugar, shortening, egg, pineapple syrup and vanilla in large bowl of electric mixer. Beat at medium speed 4 minutes. Pour into a greased 9 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Combine melted butter, brown sugar and walnuts in a small bowl. Arrange pineapple slices on hot cake and sprinkle brown sugar mixture over. Broil, with top of cake 4 inches from heat, just until topping bubbles, about 3 minutes. Watch carefully to prevent over-browning.
