1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 3/4 c. flour, all purpose
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. cinnamon

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar and the eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, salt and soda. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. (May need to be chilled first). Mix sugar and cinnamon 2 tablespoons each. Roll balls in mixture. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from baking sheet. Approximately 6 dozen.
