SWEET AND SOUR RED CABBAGE 
1 med. red cabbage (1-1/2 lb.), shredded
1/4 c. butter
1 green apple, pared and thinly sliced
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. cider vinegar
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. ground allspice
2 c. boiling water

Melt butter, add hot water, sugar and flour; blend well. Bring to boil and add remaining ingredients. Cover pan and cook 20 minutes on low heat stirring occasionally. Drain liquid before serving.
