GINGER - MAPLE BAKED APPLES | |
2 tbsp. golden raisins 2 tsp. slivered almonds 1 tsp. chopped, pared, fresh ginger root 4 apples, cored and 1 inch peeled around top 2 tbsp. lemon juice 1/2 c. maple syrup 1/2 c. heavy cream (optional) Combine first 3 ingredients in small bowl. Stuff mixture into center cavities of apples. Place apples in a circle, evenly spaced in microwave-safe 10-11 inch round dish. Combine lemon juice and maple syrup in small bowl; pour over apples. Cover tightly with microwave-safe plastic wrap. Microwave at 100% power 5-6 minutes or until apples are tender when pierced with fork. Remove dish from oven. Carefully pierce plastic with tip of knife to release steam. Uncover carefully. Serve warm or cold with syrup from dish, spooned over apples. Pass cream, if you wish. |
