CHOW MEIN CHOP SUEY | |
1/4 lb. veal 1/4 lb. beef 1/4 lb. pork, ground Coarse or all cut into sm. pieces (not ground like hamburger) 1 onion, chopped 1/2 green pepper, cut in sm. pieces 1-2 sm. garlic cloves 1-2 celery stalks Water Soy sauce (LaChoy) to taste Grandmas molasses Chinese Vegetables - add at the last minute: 1 can bamboo shoots 1 can bean sprouts 1 can mixed vegetables Brown meat until its cooked, but does not have to be real dark (meat will soak in the sauce after the meat is cooked). Brown onion and garlic, green pepper and etc. Add water to cover vegetables and meat. Add pepper, soy sauce and molasses to taste (sweet sour type taste). Cook 2-4 hours on simmer. At the last minute add Chinese vegetables so they will remain crunchy. Serve over rice, preferably brown rice. Put LaChoy Chinese noodles over sauce. Serve. |
