1 1/2 c. butter, at room temperature
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder

Cream butter; add sugar, vanilla, and egg. Stir in flour and baking powder. Beat well. Put dough through a cookie press onto ungreased cookie sheets. Decorate as desired. Bake about 8 to 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven until lightly browned.
