MINT CREAM CHEESE COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/2 c. sugar
Few drops peppermint extract
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. flaked coconut
Red or green maraschino cherries, halved

Cream together butter, cream cheese, sugar and peppermint extract until light. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt thoroughly; stir into creamed mixture until combined. Chill 2 hours. Shape into 1 inch balls; roll each in coconut. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Top each with half a cherry. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool on racks.
