TURTLE CAKE 
1 box German chocolate cake mix
14 oz. pkg. Kraft caramels
1/2 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. butter
1 c. pecans
1 c. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour 1/2 of the batter into a Pam sprayed 9 x 13-inch pan.

Bake for only 15 minutes. In top of double boiler over hot water melt together the caramels, milk and butter. Pour this over baked portion of the cake. Sprinkle the pecans and chocolate chips over the caramel mixture. Spread remaining batter over caramel mixture.

Bake an additional 25 to 30 minutes. If desired, you may spread 1/2 cup of pecans over batter.
