CORNBREAD 
2 eggs, well-beaten
1 c. milk
3 tbsp. sugar
4 tbsp. melted shortening or oil
1 c. flour
1 c. cornmeal
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Combine wet ingredients. Sift and mix together dry ingredients. Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients, stirring just enough to moisten. DO NOT beat. Bake in an 8 x 8 x 2 inch baking pan at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes. Can be baked in cornstick iron pan.
