PIG'S DELIGHT SPINACH DIP | |
2 (10 oz. ea.) boxes frozen spinach 1 (5 oz.) jar dried beef (found in same aisle as tuna) 1 cup dairy sour cream 1 cup mayonnaise dill seasoning, to taste 1 round uncut loaf of bread Note: Pumpernickel or rye is best, but any kind will work. You may also want to buy another loaf of bread to tear up and serve along with the dip. Use something good and hearty, like rye or sourdough. Cook spinach according to directions on package, drain and squeeze excess water. Tear dried beef into pieces about 1-inch square. Mix spinach, beef, sour cream, mayonnaise and dill seasoning in a bowl. Chill in refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours or until well cooled. Cut hole in round loaf of bread and tear out pieces from the "inside" to create a bread bowl. Set pieces of bread to the side to be used for dipping. It's wise to add extra bread - there is usually plenty of dip inside the bread bowl once all the original pieces are gone. Submitted by: Danielle |
