SANGRIA 
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. water
1/4 to 1/3 c. brandy
1/2 c. orange juice
1/2 lemon, sliced
1 sm. orange, peach or apple
1 1/2 qts. red or white wine
12 oz. seltzer (optional)
Ice

Combine sugar and water in large glass pitcher. Stir to dissolve. Add orange juice, brandy, lemon and orange slices and wine. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Just before serving add ice and seltzer.
