ONE STEP POUND CAKE 
1 stick butter
1 c. Crisco
5 eggs
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. milk
1 c. self-rising flour
2 c. plain flour
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon flavoring

Put all ingredients in mixing bowl at one time. (They need not be at room temperature.) Beat at medium speed for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally to insure shortening is not holding onto beaters.

Bake 65 minutes in a 350°F oven.

You can make a chocolate pound cake by adding 1/2 cup cocoa.
