SPANISH SAUCE FOR HOT DOGS | |
5 lbs. good lean hamburger 1 c. dehydrated onions (or 2 lbs. fresh) Add enough water to cover 6 heaping tbsp. hot Mexene chili powder 3 tbsp. salt 4 (14 oz.) bottles ketchup (I use Heinz) In heavy kettle put ground beef and onions. Do not fry. Cook until meat loses its red color. Mash as fine as you like (I use electric mixer). Add salt and Mexene. Cook 5 minutes. Add ketchup and cook another 5 minutes. This recipe can be cut in half. If you like sandwiches with just sauce, leave meat coarse. You may add more or less Mexene if desired. |
