ENGLISH MUFFIN LOAF 
1 pkg. Fleischmann's active dry yeast
3 c. flour
1/2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1/8 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. water
Cornmeal

Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and soda. Heat liquids until very warm (120 to 130 degrees). Add liquids to dry mixture, beat well by hand. Stir in rest of flour to make a stiff batter. Spoon into loaf pan that has been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal. Sprinkle top with cornmeal. Cover with towel and let rise in warm place for 45 minutes. Bake 25 minutes at 400 degrees. Remove from pan immediately and cool. Slice and toast. Makes approximately 16 slices.
