KARMEL GLAZE APPLE CAKE 
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/3 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. chopped apples
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sifted flour
1/3 c. water

Blend Crisco, salt and spices. Add sugar and cream well. Add eggs, then apples and mix well. Sift flour, baking powder, soda and add to mix, alternating with water. Bake in greased 10 x 10 inch pan in moderate oven, 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes.

FOR GLAZE TOPPING:

2 tbsp. Crisco
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. cream
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. corn syrup

Combine in a saucepan and bring to a rolling boil. Cool. Pour on warm cake and spread evenly.
